Claude Pepper Political Cartoon Exhibit
On exhibit now through September at the Claude Pepper Library (on Call Street) is a collection of <cartoons> depicting the local congressman's political activities over his whole career.

<Dánielle Nicole DeVoss> (professor at Michigan State University) gives a presentation on Monday, February 11, at 5:00 p.m. in WMS 013 (The English "Common Room") on copyright and intellectual property in the 21st century.

Creative Labor

<Andrew Ross> (professor and sociologist at NYU), <Alan Liu> (English and media arts professor at UC Santa Barbara), <David Robinson> (Microsoft programmer), and Jan Bultman (social media writer) will lead a full-day colloquium on <"Creative Labor and the Humanities,"> Friday, March 22, that considers the role of English majors in contributing to or critiquing the "Creative Economy." Sessions begin at 10:00 a.m., and each one lasts an hour. All sessions are in WMS 013 (The English "Common Room").

Feminism and Social Justice Teach-in

The Department of English is hosting a <"teach-in"> about feminism and social justice, on Thursday, January 24, 3:00-4:30 p.m. in WMS 013 (The English "Common Room"). I think you'll find a level of discussion that is open, interesting, savvy, (rhetorical!,) and complex.
